WhatsApp Channels Are Going Global

Whatsapp new update of channels creation is now going global. This blog is about whatsapp’s new update. Now you can create your own channels! It’s a super cool way to share updates, news, and content with a specific group of people. You can even customize the channel’s name and profile picture. How awesome is that? #WhatsAppUpdate

They have launched WhatsApp Channels to over 150 countries and deliver a private way to receive updates that matter to you. They have welcoming thousands of organizations, sports teams, artists, and thought leaders that people can follow, right within WhatsApp.

If you’re unfamiliar with Channels, their mission is to provide the most exclusive broadcast service currently offered. Channels are separate from your chats, and who you choose to follow is not visible to other followers. They also protect the personal information of both admins and followers.

As they expand Channels globally, they are introducing the following updates:

• Enhanced Directory – you can now find channels to follow that are automatically filtered based on your country. You can also view channels that are new, most active, and popular based on the number of followers.
• Reactions – you can react using emojis to give feedback and see a count of total reactions. How you react will not be shown to followers.
• Editing – soon, admins will be able to make changes to their Updates for up to 30 days, when they automatically delete them from their servers.
• Forwarding – whenever you forward an Update to chats or groups it will include a link back to the channel so people can find out more.

Based on user input, they will continue to add new features and extend Channels. This is only the beginning. They will also enable anyone to set up a channel in the upcoming months.
